I guess that you’ve discovered why many Westerners use travel agents. Hopefully someone would have vetted the claims of the hotel or past visitors would report back. Of course, having no experience in this other than ending up at a very dodgy motel once in our travels, I can’t be sure if organised travel is any better.

Ha ha! You (and M) have to come visit us “down under” some time. It’s not so far away, really. We’ve decided (as much as anything is ever “decided”) that our next trip in a year or two will be to Nepal and Tibet, as we didn’t get there this time — didn’t want to hang around for a week waiting for Tibet passes.

After the oppressive heat through China I’m not sure Dee wants to go back…
